En el número 1 de la colección Zona de Escape, el autor nos propone una historia que nos introduce en primera persona en el mundo de los escape rooms, bajo una visión que nos recuerda al género slasher.

John, Becky, Dave y Véronique, descubren que el lugar donde se celebra el escape room que han contratado no es tan seguro como esperaban, aunque, de todas maneras, deciden seguir adelante con el juego. Conforme van superando pruebas, se topan con un game master que sobrepasa todas las barreras y convierte el juego en una experiencia única, aunque para nada gratificante.

ESCAPE ROOM:

El escape room es un juego de aventuras, físico y mental, en el que los participantes son encerrados en una sala. Allí deberán superar una serie de pruebas y enigmas que los transportarán a través de una historia, en ocasiones un asesinato o una desaparición, para conseguir escapar en menos de 60 minutos.

Las mejores salas de escape cuentan con una gran decoración, haciéndonos creer que nos encontramos en lugares fantásticos o, incluso, que hemos viajado en el tiempo. La interacción del director de juego, también conocido como game master o GM, es esencial para que la experiencia sea sobresaliente. En el caso de escapes del género terror, pueden llegar a conseguir que los participantes crean que están ante un asesino real y crear situaciones de pánico no aptas para personas con problemas cardíacos.
